Well I wish you and anyone reading this all the best and will be looking in here occasionally.
I don't do much gaming either. Like to program when I have the brains for it, which has not been very often lately with this overnight shift work.

I know BZ2 does not like the strict user access control of Windows 7 and there are ways to get around this or just turn off user access control.

WinXP 64 bit should be backward compatible with most programs 32bit. If not Microsoft makes something called VirtualPC( freeware). This allows you to create a virtual computer inside your real or host computer. So a standard 32 bit install of Windows XP Pro on a virtual machine powered by a 64bit host should be quite nice. VirtualPC does allow some Hardware Acceleration and works best with Windows O.S. installs.

http://www.bzuniverse.com is still going with lots of links to patches and mods.

The primary patches were the official patch version 1.2 and Christen Leinen's No-CD patch.

Do you remember Forgotten enemies?
http://www.bzscrap.com/downloads/Mods/BZ2CP/bz2cp_full.exe

This link to a file on BZscrap works pretty good and lets you install FE in one stroke.

Great to hear from you Blacknight! I am pretty sure I could dig up an ISO of BZ2, not sure how legal it is though, even at this late time.

How is Scottland these days? Better shape than The states I hope.

sorry to take so long to answer. I had given up hope of hearing from The RIP.
Battlezone universe still works on the 1.3 patch. BZ2maps.com still plays both the original version and the 1.2 path.

http://www.gel-guild.net/board/portal.php This clan is still active.

http://battlezone1.org/ One of BZ2's programmers Ken nicknamed UltraKen works on a DirectX 9.0b version of BZ1. A complete installer of BZ1 with a no CD patch and the new DX 9 patch is available here.

Awfully good to hear from you. I will check back later today as well as tomorrow.

I talk to Overmind on a regular basis and TimeVirus still has a website Timedisruptor.com where a lot of politics gets discussed. A lot of the old nicknames show up there.

I am finally back to work and slowly removing myself from the status of poverty. I just wondered how things are going across the pond.

The news I get here is the usual exaggerated bull.

In the year 2007, I earned 35,000 U.S. dollars, in 2008--6500, in 2009--350.
I went from home owner to living in a tent and the worst poverty one could imagine. ( seemed like a nightmare)
I traveled to Louisiana state from Florida looking for work and then went on to Oklahoma state where I have relatives. I am finally got back to work, but at a WalMart department store earning much less then I was before and live in a small apartment.

I have high hopes this job will help me find better employment simply by being able to clean up the credit and employment records a bit.

I sincerely hope all is well with you all.

By the way, I have cable internet and will be visiting here daily for awhile.

Happy Birthday BlackNight!

I know it's been a long time since I have been here. Times have been real hard for me. The U.S.A. has had it's troubles as you all probably have heard in the news.

I will get back here as soon as I can. I don't have an internet connection so I have to connect at the local public library computers.

Real good to see the website is still here and I hope all of you are doing well. God speed and God Bless you all. You are the finest I have ever met.

I have been using Ubuntu O.S. off and on lately.

Ubuntu is the most device compatible of all the Linux O.S. versions out there right now, but I still discovered a few it does not like.

Lite-On DVD-R R/W (dvd recordable rewriteable)

Sound Blaster Live 5.1 Xgamer

I replaced the sound card with Audigy SE and the Lite-On DVD-r r/w with Lite-On DVD-rom.

Now all works very nice but I lost the use of my dvd recorder just to please Ubuntu.
So I switch between Ubuntu and Win XP.

Look over the Linux Hardware compatibility List before you install.
Use the links high on the page first. If it is not comatible with base Linux then it may not be compatible with other versions.

It will save you lots of confusion.
Linux systems tend to be confusing when it comes to hardware drivers.
http://www.linux-drivers.org/

Also Totem Movie Player comes standard with the ubuntu install and is a bit buggy.
I have found VLC is easy to install through the easy to use features of Ubuntu and works much better for your DVD movies.

Be well,

Kind of wondering what I could do to liven things up here.
I know you are all in the same boat as me more or less, working a lot just to keep the home fires burning steady.

What the hell, life sucks and then you die right? So what's the point in it?

For me, I try to get a little joy out it when I can, otherwise I would have to do just that,,,lay down and die,,,,

Be well guys,,,,

ONS-Battledomesbeta1 05-21-2007 15:29 Forum: Unreal Tournament 2004

Time to liven the place up with a concpet map.
To the best of my knowledge Unreal Tournament 3 will require a hefty computer and maps will have more data for larger play areas and detail. I would have to say atleast in concept, this map would be par for the course.
This map uses multiple skies and vehicle teleporters both at once. To the best of my knowledge, this has never been done before.
The pathing and Onslaught vehicles are setup for the fastest disspersal of 32 bots and not much in the line of extras yet.
The map download link is a 19mb zip file requiring 100 mb of harddrive space when uncompressed.
The screenshots are png approx. 400k each.

The following info about the map is in Epic games forum format.
Follow the bots to learn the map.
I hope you enjoy it.

1. Name: ONS-Battledomes
2. Version: Beta1
3. Compatibility:
UT2004 patched to 3369
1ghz or faster CPU
500mb CPU ram
128mb graphics ram
4. Description:
Five forcefield Domes have been established in 5 different parts of the world.
Tournament teams fight for domination of all five domes.
5. Comments:
This map combines Killbait's vehicle teleporter with AngelMapper's Multiskyzones to create a
unique game play environment. 5-65k^3 subtracted boxes with complete game play
environments in each including terrain make up this map.
AVERAGE LOAD TIME FROM GAME MENU IS 35 seconds.

Quake wars uses the Doom 3 engine so basicly the system requirements will be the same as Doom 3.

Doom 3 played quite nice on my computer and Doom 3 was intense for an SP game.

I ran into a bit of a snag getting here but thanks to a few skills by Mav, I am here to say "Glad you guys made it back".

Seems the email confirmation never got to me for registeration.

Looking forward to UT3(formerly called UT2007). UT2004 was and still is a wonderland of possibilities.

I downloaded a copy of this forum software.

Brain may I give a try at creating a new skin for the place? Could be one of many choices for the users.
